Jie Jie Is Home
Jie jie came home last last Sunday. It took a while because Missy didn't approve the first artwork that the pets crematorium people did. Eventually, she took over and did the artwork by herself.
She knew best what was befitting of my jie jie.
Missy wept again, but I wasn't sure what to do because jie jie used to take care of all that single-pawedly. She was our Daisy Nightingale.
We miss you very much, jie jie.

Was That You, Jie Jie?
It is said that jie jie will visit us on the 7th day of her passing.
Missy waited a long time this weekend. On Sunday morning, she woke to find this pretty little moth in her room. She must have spent the night, because Grandmama said she was first on her bed the night before. Missy also saw that she had caught some fur in her wings.
Was that you, jie jie? Were you rummaging through Missy's bin to try and make her some confetti again, only to pick up all that fur?
This morning, Grandmama woke with a smile on her face. She had dreamt of you, jie jie.

Jie Jie, Jie Jie, Where Are You?
Jie jie, jie jie, where are you? Where have you gone without me? I looked out the gate many times today to see if you were coming home, but I didn't see you.
Missy was on the sofa trying to watch some TV tonight. You were missing from her lap. So I climbed up and promptly dozed off on Missy's lap. It's not my usual style, but Missy liked it.
Jie jie, jie jie, are you coming home soon?
Note from Missy: I'm not sure Waverly knows about Daisy. She's too innocent. But today, she acted slightly differently from her usual self. It seems she's trying to make up for Daisy's absence, by filling in the gaps, doing what Daisy usually does for us. Good girl, Waverly. Grandpapa, Grandmama and I appreciate having you with us during this difficult time. It is as I had planned.

Please Get Well, Jie Jie
My jie jie is ill. It started with what Missy thought was jie jie retching. Thinking it was a case of indigestion or gas, Missy offered jie jie acidophilus and charcoal in turn. But the ‘retching’ just got worse. Soon, jie jie stopped eating and playing altogether. Missy took jie jie to the vet on Monday and ordered a comprehensive blood test. Everything came out normal and Missy and jie jie went home. But jie jie just got worse and worse. She would ‘retch’ up to 3-4 times an hour. So on Saturday, Missy took jie jie to the vet again. This time, the vet heard jie jie. It turned out jie jie hadn’t been retching at all, she was coughing! The X-ray showed that jie jie’s lungs are amassed with fluids and possibly blood and pus too. The vet said jie jie’s condition is serious.
Jie jie is now on antibiotics and a diuretic to drain the fluids off her lungs. The folks are keeping her very quiet by restricting her to her recovery area.
It is now Monday and jie jie has lost control of her bladder about 7 times. Thank God for pee pads!
We are all very sad and worried at home. Jie jie is still doing poorly. She refuses food and has gone down so much her spine and ribs are showing. Jie jie, always a little on the tubby side, has never looked like this before.
Jie jie in her recovery area.
If anyone has any idea how to make my jie jie eat, or more comfortable, or get better, please let my Missy know.
Please get well soon, jie jie!

At The Railroad
Each time Missy passes by the railroad on her way to work, she thinks how nice it would be to take us there and have some outdoor shots taken.
The pictures turned out all right. But, we shall never go back there again.
For we are lucky to live to tell this story.
Here's what happened:
Missy had thought that she would be able to hear the train come chugging and have some time to get us out of the way. But when it did come, it came more suddenly and faster than anticipated and left Missy with little time to react. She had let us roamed and we were some way ahead of her. As the train came charging at us, Missy could only scream our names and watched helplessly, carrying the greatest fear in her heart, as we took our brush with D. Eventually, we were saved by our own instincts as we bolted out of harm's way in time. It was truly a close call.
From Missy: I'm sorry, my precious babies. I will never, ever take a chance like this again. I love you, very much, and I want to have you by my side for many good years to come.

Yellow Bird
Jie jie loves bird-watching (or is it chasing?). Anyhoo, this morn, we had the pleasure of having one of her friends visit. Everyone, meet Yellow Bird!

Party Of Three
Jie jie and I turned 10 and 3 respectively earlier this year but we never got round to celebrating because of Missy's work. We've always celebrated birthdays. Jie jie's arrival anniversaries, especially, are of particular significance. When friends receive invitations, they know, like Aunt HL once put it, that 'it's the time of the year'. Missy has been waiting a long time to make it up to us. So today, finally, we had our belated celebrations.
This time, there were no guests, but we had nature, beautiful nature, the trees and the birds, and we had a freshly baked Strawberry Tart in place of the birthday cake. And we had us, a party of three.
